Picha, Peru (Copper-Silver) 40% owned

Overview

The Picha Project (40% Thunderbird) is a Copper-Silver exploration project, located in the Moquegua and Puno Departments of southern Peru. The Picha Project comprises 27 granted mining concessions for a total of 21,539 hectares (215 km2). Picha is located approximately 17km ENE of Buenaventura’s San Gabriel Au-Cu-Ag Project, which reports an Indicated and Inferred resource of 7.6 million ounces Au equivalent (132.7Mt @ 1.8 g/t AuEq)*.

The Picha Project is considered highly prospective for at least four different styles of mineralisation:

  • Epithermal polymetallic vein
  • Stratabound mineralisation
  • Carbonate Replacement deposits (CRD)/Skarns
  • Porphyry copper mineralisation

Project operated by Firetail Resources with maiden drilling program of 5,000m completed in 2024. Drill results include:

  • 13m @ 2.81% Cu and 27.1g/t Ag from 2m at Cobremani target
  • 15.5m @ 0.72% Cu, 130g/t Ag 1.92% Pb and 0.16% Zn from 3.25m at Cumbre Coya target.
