Company Overview

With a strategic focus on critical minerals exploration in Canada, Thunderbird is about to embark on a period of high-impact exploration activity across its portfolio of uranium, copper and lithium assets in the Athabasca Basin and Ontario.

The Company’s main focus is its drill-ready uranium assets, where it has identified significant drill targets across four projects – Hidden Bay, Cluff Lake, Surprise Creek and Hook Lake.

With the exception of a handful of world-class deposits which have accounted for 20% of global primary uranium production for the past 60 years, the Athabasca Basin has been largely under-explored for the past 40 years with limited modern exploration and an outstanding opportunity for new discoveries. The average grade across the Basin is ~2% U3O8, which 10–20 times the global average.

The Company is gearing up to drill these potentially company-making opportunities over the next 12 months.

Thunderbird has a strong track record of generating high-value projects and, in recent months, has also entered into option agreements over three highly prospective lithium projects in North-West Ontario, the Morrison River, Frazer Lake and Jesaulenko Projects.

All three have outstanding prospectivity for significant lithium discoveries within one of the world’s most exciting emerging lithium provinces, which is well-served by world-class infrastructure and major regional mining centres such as Thunder Bay.

Exploration is planned to commence across these projects in the coming months as part of the Company’s option evaluation process.

Thunderbird streamlined its portfolio on 2023 through the sale of the high-potential Picha and Charaque Copper Projects in Peru to ASX-listed explorer Firetail Resources (ASX: FTL), giving it a 20.58% shareholding in Firetail plus a retained 20% project interest.

This transaction allowed Thunderbird to monetise its Peruvian position and streamline its portfolio while retaining significant free-carried exposure to the upside from exploration for Tier-1 copper deposits in one of the world’s premier copper provinces.

A maiden 5,000m diamond drilling program commenced at the Picha Project in October 2023, generating some exciting initial results.
